Liverpool Housing Association Cobalt Housing has appointed masterplanners and designers Gillespies to work on its estate regeneration plan for Stonedale Crescent in Croxteth.

The estate sits within one of Liverpool City Council’s Mayoral priority development zones, focused on improving social and economic conditions for both residents and neighbourhoods.

Gillespies are supported by partners Hemingway Design, Cushman & Wakefield, Ekosgen and Mott MacDonald.

The masterplan for Stonedale Crescent will be developed through extensive consultation with residents, partners and the wider community and will look at options to both regenerate existing residential streets and develop new, high quality homes and spaces.

Community Regeneration Manager, Pauline Allen at Cobalt Housing, said:

“We are delighted to have been successful in securing government funding to kick-start this vital regeneration of Stonedale Crescent, bringing new opportunities and investment to improve the lives of our tenants and local residents.

“We are looking forward to working with Gillespies, other partners and residents to develop a regeneration plan that will deliver on our strong ambitions for the area: a safe, connected and cohesive community where people are able to live well and thrive.”

Jim Fox, Associate Partner at Gillespies, said:

“This is an exciting opportunity to work closely and creatively with residents, Homes England, Cobalt Housing and their partners to address fundamental regeneration issues across the area, create a presence on the East Lancs Road and inform early action on the ground.”

The masterplan will be completed by September 2018.
