Gillespies presents masterplan and delivery strategy for Wigan Estate


Gillespies, supported by Cushman & Wakefield, have presented an estate regeneration masterplan and delivery strategy for Worsley Mesnes, Wigan. The plan has been prepared for Wigan Council as part of the government’s National Estate Regeneration programme. The Gillespies-led team has worked closely with the Council, the HCA, developers and local people – through workshops, drop-in sessions and engagement with young people – to develop the route map. Dimitris Grozopoulos, an assistant landscape architect at Gillespies, was one of three runners-up in an international ideas contest to transform London into a ‘National Park City’. The first phase of Wapping Wharf, a vibrant harbourside quarter in Bristol, has been awarded ‘best residential project for over 41 units’ at the Michelmore Property Awards in Exeter. The scheme involves the transformation of previously derelict land to the south of Bristol’s iconic floating harbour into a new, community-focused residential quarter. The first phase provides 194 residential units and approximately 900 square metres of retail and leisure space. Google submits plans for King’s Cross campus building and rooftop garden


Google has submitted an application for planning permission to Camden Council for its proposed King’s Cross Campus in London. This building will be the first wholly owned and designed Google building outside the United States. The project is made unique by the huge rooftop garden with trees and other greenery planted on the roof.
